In her talk ‘Reinventing the wheel of attachment through creative movements’ Vaishali Bafna presented her study on specific elements in the design of movement that positively stimulate the attachment system of the brain. The fast paced, deadline pressured modern living has invaded not only our spaces of rest and recreation but also attachment – a crucial development that is integral to a healthy childhood. Inadequate and deprived attachment systems in childhood has lifelong impact on the adult’s relationship with the world – family, colleagues, friends and people at large. Kinesiology can help re-wire the attachment system giving hope at any stage or age of a person’s life.
Neuroplasticity – or brain plasticity – is the ability of the brain to modify its connections or re-wire itself. The basic structure of the brain is established before birth by your genes. But its continued development relies heavily on a process called developmental plasticity, where developmental processes change neurons and synaptic connections.
